Bring the water usage history
Have recent meter readings or bills available, together with the date the problem was noticed. Tell the team whether the meter serves one home or several. A sketch showing the meter, house and any known pipe route is useful, particularly where an extension or new driveway has changed the site.
Locate the underground escape
ADI uses equipment such as ground microphones, tracer gas and leak correlation to investigate mains leaks. Correlation compares leak sounds measured at different points on a pipe. The engineer chooses the combination appropriate to the supply and surrounding ground. Water mains repair options can be discussed separately from detection.
Plan access across the property
Mention locked gates, parking restrictions and anything built over the suspected route. For a shared supply, identify who can arrange access to neighbouring areas and tell ADI about any restrictions before booking. Keep the visit details together so the tenant or keyholder knows which parts of the property may need to be reached.
