Explain the pressure problem
Send the booking team the boiler location, the type of heating and any recent engineer findings. A photograph of the pressure display can help you keep the account consistent. If the home has underfloor heating, say which rooms it serves and where the controls are located.
Trace the route beneath the floor
ADI can use thermal imaging to examine temperature patterns around heating pipes, with acoustic equipment, tracer gas and moisture meters helping the investigation. Pressure testing can establish whether the tested pipework holds pressure. The engineer selects methods suited to the system and the access available.
Prepare for the appointment
Ask for the heating preparation instructions when booking and pass them to the person who will be at home. Give the engineer access to radiator valves, heating controls and the manifold where one is fitted. If the tenant has been told to leave the heating switched off, mention that before the visit so the team can plan accordingly.
